Singularity and FURIA have made their way through to the Americas Minor closed qualifier after finishing top two in the first open qualifier.
The first of four open qualifiers of the Americas Minor took place over the past two days, with a total of 76 teams battling for two spots in the closed qualifier.
During the round of 16, teams like Eric "adreN" Hoag's Mythic, and Nicolas "NikoM" Miozzi's TeamOne fell short in the BO1's, while the South Africans of Bravado, newly fitted Singularity, and the Brazilians of FURIA reached the BO3 semifinals.
Bravado and Singularity kicked off the semifinals on Inferno, where Ryan "ryann" Welsh & co. swiftly caught the South Africans flat-footed, sealing the 16-2 map victory with ease, before closing things out with a stout CT side on Nuke, 16-10, to punch their ticket to the closed qualifier.
On the other side of the bracket, the Brazilians got off to a marvelous start over blitz, which prompted the convincing win on Nuke 16-3. FURIA continued their reign on Inferno, claiming ten rounds on their T side, before cleaning things up as CTs in the 16-6 map victory to reach the closed qualifier.
The Americas Minor closed qualifier team list currently looks as follows:
